about
Our Story
Share With Others launched on January 2, 2019, on the birthday of Todd Bol – creator of Little Free Library Movement – to continue his philosophy and revolutionary vision of front yard sharing. Share With Others is run by the Bol family and is a name Todd used as he described this new venture before his passing in October, 2018. “I believe people can fix their neighborhoods, fix their communities, develop systems of sharing, learn from each other, and see that they have a better place on this planet to live,” he said shortly before his death.
The Bol Family
The entire Bol family worked alongside Todd while he shaped the core principles that created a worldwide book sharing movement. Susan, Todd’s wife of 35 years, was his partner in social entrepreneurism, traveling with him to spread the word it’s mission. Their children, Allison and Austin, picked up hammers and nails with their dad to show neighbors how to build their own little libraries and inspire their communities to connect through book sharing. And Todd’s brother Tony, who leads Share With Others, worked alongside Todd at the Little Free Library nonprofit organization, where he designed libraries, established production systems, and traveled extensively around the country with Todd to raise awareness about the front yard sharing movement.

The Little Free Library Movement Todd created has made an impact all over the world, and has given rise to a culture of front yard sharing that now includes little free pantries, blessing boxes, puzzle libraries, little free art libraries, seed libraries, and numerous other creative sharing ideas. Share With Others is an organization dedicated to supporting and spreading Todd’s vision of an ever expanding front yard sharing movement.
Support our mission
The Bol family asks you to consider making a gift through the Minneapolis Foundation [link to Minneapolis Foundation] to support placing all kinds of front yard sharing boxes in neighborhoods of need and to support further study on the impact of neighbors sharing with neighbors. We do what we do in part to honor the memory of Todd Bol, who passed suddenly from pancreatic cancer in 2018. He was proud of helping people do something to make where they live a better place and connect more closely with their neighbors. Todd left us all an abundant legacy worth sharing with others.
